Would You Act Like This on Your Wedding Day
We’ve heard it all now, this brides reaction to a wedding guests cash gift is actually mental! It’s very common would you believe for a bride and groom to complain about a gift or cash gift that they receive on their wedding day from a guest but we would hope they would keep it to themselves but not in this case.
We came across many complaints in our time, one being how a groom told a couple how outraged he was with an €80.00 cash gift, the couple in question could not believe they were being confronted like this. Well we have another one and this time it involves the bride. Many of these horrific experiences come from online internet forms such as this one, Mumsnet. One lady took to the sharing site to explain how she gave a cash gift of €100 and the reaction of the bride afterwards knocked her sideways.

She set the scene by explaining that she had attended a wedding of an ex-colleague and the bride and groom had requested cash gifts from their guests, this is cheeky enough… The woman explained that she sent what she thought was a decent cash gift of €100. That was until she heard the reaction from the bride! The bride sent the guest an email a couple of days after the wedding and it says:
“I received an email which opened with a few comments about how glad they were to see everybody and how generous they’d all been, then said “we were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day. In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received”.
The bride went on to refer to the guests position, which she believes refers to a recent inheritance she received. This is shocking considering that the wedding guest is not a friend or relative, she is just an ex-colleague.
What do you think, would you ever dream of sending this kind of email to a wedding guests of yours?
